【SDGs】Genovese sauce-style pasta with the edible chrysanthemum stem

Anyway, I am a wife and a mother. 

I’ve been cooking for more than 30 years.  

 

And I also have experience working at a food 

and a supplement company for more than 20 years. 

 

With my experiences, 

I learned many things and different cooking styles. 

 

But most importantly,

I learned to give importance to each ingredient, 

even the waste ingredients

 

For example, chicken skin contains collagen

 

Usually, we throw that away but it actually has some nutrition

 

and also apple’s peels or seeds but that also contain various nutrition 

which are good for skin and anti-aging. 

 

So, I am introducing ” SDGs waste ingredients cooking” especially. 

 

Let’s make effective use of them! 

 

 

 

So, this time, 

 

 

 

I will introduce a recipe using edible chrysanthemum stem!

 

 

 

The edible chrysanthemum is a vegetable with a strong fragrance, 

and it is eaten as a vegetable in Japan and other East Asian countries mainly.

 

 

The edible chrysanthemum contains nutritional components 

such as β-carotene, Vitamin K and folic acid,etc.

 

 

 

Naturally, the stem also contains nutrients, but usually, 

we throw the stem away.

 

So, I would like to cook 

Genovese sauce-style pasta with the edible chrysanthemum stem.

<How to make>

 

1.Put chopped garland chrysanthemum stem & walnuts & chopped garlic, grated cheese, and olive oil 

   into a millcer and stir until pasty. This completes the Genovese sauce.

 

2. Cut the bacon into strips.

 

3. Put olive oil, garlic, and red pepper in a heated frying pan, and when it smells, add bacon.

 

4. Add the edible chrysanthemum Genovese sauce into the pan and the boiled pasta juice little by little and mix.

 

5. Add freshly boiled pasta to it and season with salt and black pepper.Finished ♬
